Woodworking is a practical necessity for some and a passion for others. For many, like myself, it’s both. My name is Joel Sommerville, and I’ve been building with wood since my earliest memories. From tree houses and household items to chainsaw carvings, I’ve always loved the look, warmth, and versatility of wood. However, I realized that the high cost of materials was my biggest limitation. A few years ago, I set out to overcome this challenge by leveraging economies of scale and smart logistics to offer select items at discounted rates. This vision gave birth to Rustic Ridge Lumber Company.

Rustic Ridge Lumber specializes in sourcing rustic materials and making them affordable and accessible in Southwest Missouri. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of providing these products to our community. Connecting with others, learning about their techniques, and seeing their projects come to life has been incredibly rewarding.
